What Do You Need Me For?

With every attempt you make to contact me,
it hurts a little more inside.
What do you need me for?

Trying to close the chapter on what we once had,
yet you're insistence makes me curious to ask,
What do you still need me for?

Filling me with wishful thinking and false hopes,
will once again making me a fool,
if I happen to fall again.
The thoughts push into my brain
the force is too strong,
I cant keep it out,

I need to know,
What do you need me for?

If I am so different,
why am I treated the same.
I've stated my position,
why do you act like you're in pain?
apologetic, repentful
As if you need my forgiveness

I need to know,
What do you need me for?

I tell you, I'm ready to close my chapter on you,
but are you sure with me?

So I ask once again,
is there anything else you still need me for?
