• FilAmFest. Taught some people how to write in Baybayin and wrote our name on a board. Had a comment about how I can't speak tagalog but I can write the script. Yeah, funny ain't it. But not knowing the language of my heritage doesn't make me less so. Shows how much of division there is within a culture when a group doesn't accept one for inability to do one thing. Not all American-born Italian's know Italian and neither do those of French or possibly those with a Native American background. 
• Saw Jon's parents. His Mom always waves so enthusiastically at me. 
• Work. Meh.
• Gas is up to 4.65 avg but I saw as high as 4.85. My poor soul. I don't think I'll have enough gas for the week. :/ Paycheck come soon. kthx

• Today would've been my Lola's 92nd Birthday. I still think about her a lot and I'm still able to have a good cry when I think about her and how much has changed since she left. Michelle, Scott, and I had a shot for her. Anywho, Happy Grandparent's Day :)
• Everytime I log onto this blog, I squeeze my eyes just to see how far I am behind on blogging. I'm four days behind. But that goes to show how EXHAUSTED I am when it comes to full time work and just wanting to sleep. 
• So my car went into the shop on Wednesday. Sadly, Autoport couldn't detect the issues that were leading to my Check Engine light being on so they had to direct us to a dealership. The dealership found that the not only were the  four coils (which autoport did detect were an issue, but just one) were an issue including the catalytic converter was burning out. This brought up to over $1500, then the guy calls me the next day that he fucked up on the price since he only told me the price of one coil instead of all four and it turned out to be $2000. OMG! I know that I should get ready to make another savings for another car. 
• Since I started working two jobs during the week and Jon with his work and Grad school, we haven't seen much of each other lately. Luckily Jon visited me after my second attempt at the CBEST yesterday. We had Boudin's and he dropped me off at the Fashion Valley Transit Center so I could catch the trolley to Qualcomm. 
• FITNESS UPDATE: In between the test and seeing Jon, I was able to stop by the ARC and worked out for over an hour and saw that I was down several more pounds. Making that since I started this weight loss journey I've lost 10lbs. :) But don't worry about Boudins, I had a Mediterranean salad.

• Last week really put me behind. SEP 3 was really the laziest week for Lily and myself. Budget lists and LP's weren't even submitted. Luckily Lily and I get the week off so we can regroup and get ready for our collaboration with FANHS. Might get a reporter there and actually act aPublic Relations Coordinator for once and not Website Manager. 
• Registered. It was pretty stressful since my parents wanted me to get 12 units for the CalVet Waiver but since the bs I went through a couple of weeks ago just to register for Mesa placed me at a late registration and a lot of the classes that I wanted or I thought were interesting were already filled. I managed to get HEAL 101 Health & Lifestyle and HEAL 190 Health Education for Teachers which totally makes sense since I'm getting into education. 
• Budgeting my life is tiring me out.
• Service Engine light is still on. =/ What is new?

Late 189: Priorities/Fitness Diary

**I was typing this last night but I was so tired from that day's workout, I just knocked out. 

• For everything I'm saving up for, I really need to prioritize what's important. Paying for my new found bills I've been put up to pay for now and Korea/Grad School. A camera and a new purse amongst other things will have to be put on an indefinite hold. I'll have to see how July really goes to see if I can truly go to LA to visit Regine. Trips to LA will be $40 but double that for the trip back, alone to trip will cost $80 through Amtrak and probably $30 through Greyhound. It's hard to feel appreciative of my first world privileges when I have limitations that are making first world living stressful. Cray. Cray. 
• Super sore from yesterday's Total  Body Fitness class. Mostly in my thighs and my back where I feel it the most. I didn't want to get too lazy so I tried to fit in at least 30 minutes of fitness today after I made a lot of note cards for my CSET. I got 30 minutes on the elliptical since Jon was free after 5pm. Afterwards we went to this awesome place with fresh smoothies and Mediterranean Food. I felt lively after my Green Tea Fruit smoothie with Fat Burner. Tried some hip hop cardio moves from HowCast afterwards since I'm having trouble with the Kick, Cross, Rock, Step but I am liking that 
• My Mom is getting to me right now since she asked me what was the relevance in KAMP for me. All in all. Basically asking me to stop going. "Why are you spending so many hours there? Is there other people who are there so you can stop going?" Is what she basically said. With as much as it took not to go Katie Kaboom on her, I told her that what I was doing with the Summer Enrichment Program I was developing with Lily, I was creating Lesson Plans and I'm planning on going to Grad School for Educational Leadership. It was really disappointing to hear.

177: Father's Day Oddities

• My Dad ended up working today, so I was cleaning around the house
• Cooked bisteak for the family. Meat was different then the usual and was tough, but the ultimate judge aka my Mom still gave it a stamp of approval.
• Hours haven't been increasing due to budget cuts and lack of summer school classes from some community colleges. Really looking to Korvia and TEACH Applications because this year off from college isn't starting off as good as I hoped. 
• Had a SVU marathon and I noticed that Andrew McCarthy was the rapist they were chasing in the episode. He was my favorite Brat Pack, especially as Blane in "Pretty in Pink" and Kevin from St. Elmo's Fire. Now that I've started recognizing him in other stuff like "The New Guy", I've noticed that he's playing a lot of jerks. 
• Money problems. :(

I didn't save enough for Gradfest and now I truly will have to wait until GradNite to purchase the bulk of my SDSU gear for my family. Truly. Luckily my cap and gown were free BUT the stole is still an additional cost and those damn Announcements cost almost as much as an entire package. Plus I'm going to take photos next week with Picture People and hopefully save more money since those again damn announcements gave me a near heart attack and ate into my photography savings. Jesus.

Six Months

Let's put this into perspective. I have six months. Six months until I graduate. Six months until I'm thrust upon the world that's expecting me to be a contributing member of society. Six months until I'm no longer qualified under my Dad's Navy Benefits and I'll need to prove financial stability. Six months.

But as of this moment; I'm broke, I'm living with my parents, and I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do as a post-grad. I'm throwing out teach abroad, which I intend to do. I'm also throwing out grad school, publishing jobs, and becoming a teacher in the mix as well but...I'm not entirely sure which one I'm going to do.

I'm working at the Ticket Office again for Football Season and there are two more games left in the contract. Montezuma has reduced my hours to seven hours a week and I'm barely scraping by. I'm trying to have some financial security but I'm depending on my parents where my two places of employment lacks. Today, I filled out several job applications for a potential third job and it will be a ray of hope for me to get them. I'm yearning for Winter Vacation to start so I can return to Full Time.

Graduation is fucking expensive and I have six months to save up for something I might not be able to afford in six months.

Not to mention, I'm introducing my boyfriend to my parents in six months. Eesh.

Broken Things

Contrary to that emo sounding title, I'm just recounting my material things that gave up/ceased to continue working/broke in this week alone. Sure things break all the time and there is no need to grieve the end of the use of an inanimate object. But the frequency of which my things broke this week, well, to put it plainly, sucks balls.

Monday: My wallet that I received for my birthday from my friends Charlene and Rahmaan, not only lost it's two buttons used to close the wallet but the interior lining of the pockets/cardholders have long been coming apart and held by safety pins to avoid further tear. However, with the unraveling of the coin purse, it is sad but my wallet, is dunzo. RIP.

Wednesday: Sunglasses are cheap and is probably the easiest to replace. But also the easiest to lose. I have a set that I call the "trooper" pair. Mainly, despite the frequency of which new glasses break OR get lost, somehow those "troopers" are the ones that remain. In March, my sunglasses one of my glasses new temples[?] (I'm unfamiliar with the parts of glasses frames) came off. I was able to replace the screw on the hinge and preserve it's lifetime for a quite a bit more. Not to mention that it's scratched up like hell. However Wednesday was one of San Diego's hotter days and the lens popped out. I've maintained those pairs since my freshman year of college. I'm about to start my senior year as a hand-me-down from my sister. With the popping of the lens, I detect that the imminent retiring of those sunglasses are coming soon and I'm definitely going to need replacements.

Thursday: My car has a cassette player.Obsolete for many people, but I have managed to keep cassettes prominent in my life by using the option to play my mp3 player through a cassette player connecter. Basically attaching my mp3 player to this device the shape of a cassette. Insert into the player and my music will play. This product I've used for well over a year and finally the wires burned out. Right as I pulled into the parking structure at school, I was listening to The Cardigan's Love/Fool as the tape started to skip and eventually stop playing. The day was once again hot and I figured it tampered with the connection. So when i got back to my car at 6 (long day at school), I tried to play my music once again but to no avail my mp3 connecter was officially dunzo.


Those were mainly my key items that I use everyday when I'm out and about doing my thing. I could include my beauty products that officially ran out on me or I'll need to replace sooner than later, but that just sounds completely vain. OMG my body wash is gone. Yeah, I'm not like that at all. It may sound like a big deal, but I'm the type of person that doesn't quickly replace things when they are of no use to me anymore. Unless space permits, I usually keep things hoping that one day that they'll be of use to me again. Strangely, that works a lot with make up. However, earlier this year I was struggling to keep clean clothes as t-shirts that I've been wearing since high school either faded, stained, or got small for me and shoes became worn. It happens over the course of the year so it doesn't appear too daunting, yet in the course of a week, that's a lot of money for me personally to replace them all. Especially when you have yet to earn enough money to replace some of the other things (clothes and shoes) that you haven't replaced yet.

Just had to get that off my chest. I'll buy my new wallet and mp3 connecter over the weekend.
